Dishwashers are the part of behind the scenes operations in the restaurant industry. They ensure that all of the daily operational equipment is cleaned and ready for use.
Dishwasher Job Responsibilities:
Collecting used kitchenware from tables and kitchen area
Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as required.
Keeps dish area clean
Set up dishmachines and sinks.
Maintains clean floors throughout the work.
Wash some specific item by hand
Properly washes and store utensils
Changes water of machines and sinks every two to three hour, or more often as needed
Assists within the timely storing of food deliveries.
Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trash cans and boxes at the top of every shift.
Maintains the dry cargo area and therefore the organization of storage shelves.
Follows the daily dish cleaning duties as assigned
Help in food prep and the other duties set forth or requested by the chef as required.
Ability to stand or walk for long hours - upto 8 hours a day
Dishwasher Qualifications / Skills:
Good Customer service
Planning and multi-tasking
Self-motivated with a high energy state
Good Verbal communication
High school diploma or GED
Hands-on experience with industrial washing machines
Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as required
Time management skills
Attention to detail and sanitation rules
Availability to work in shifts, during weekends and evenings
Must have a current food handler’s card or other certification as needed by federal or state
Experience Requirements:
At least six months of work experience as a Dishwasher or on Wait Staff
